Quant Systems: Senior Linux Engineer

The D. E. Shaw Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Engineer to join its Quant Systems team in London. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining high-performance trading and research infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Linux-based systems for high-performance computing and trading infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain software tools for workload scheduling, fleet management, and clustered file systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and best practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux system administration and development
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including kernel and network performance tuning
  • Experience with Python development and automated build and deployment tools
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
