Counselling Placement Opportunities

We are currently recruiting placement counsellors to join our team at Choose Therapy. Our online counselling placement offers a unique opportunity for trainee counsellors to gain valuable experience in a flexible and autonomous environment.
What We Offer- Flexible scheduling: Counsellors can choose their own availability and schedule client sessions at times that suit them.
- Autonomy: Counsellors have the freedom to decide which clients they work with, allowing for a personalized approach to therapy.
- Online platform: We use online video conferencing to conduct sessions, making it easy for counsellors to work with clients from anywhere in the UK.
- Fortnightly supervision: We provide free fortnightly supervision to support counsellors in their professional development.
- CPD opportunities: Counsellors can complete a half-day CPD on working online during the onboarding period.
- 4 client hours per week: Counsellors are expected to commit to 4 client hours per week.
- Regular supervision: Counsellors must be available for regularly scheduled fortnightly supervision.
- Counselling experience: Counsellors should have completed some counselling placement hours with clients already or be able to provide a letter of readiness from their training institution.
- Personal therapy: Counsellors must have had at least 30 hours of personal therapy with a qualified therapist before applying and be willing to continue in personal therapy for the duration of the placement.
- Counselling insurance: Counsellors must have appropriate counselling insurance in place.
- Professional membership: Counsellors must be a member of a professional counselling body.
- DBS check: Counsellors must be willing to complete a DBS check with Choose Therapy's selected DBS provider.
Counsellors at Choose Therapy have the opportunity to see one of our fully qualified counsellors at our sister organisation Select Therapy at a discounted rate during their placement with us. After successful completion of their placement, counsellors may be offered a position at our premium service Select Therapy.
