Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our Biochemical Genetics Laboratory team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a Clinical Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting our screening programs for newborn and fetal anomalies, as well as providing clinical advisory services in biochemical genetics.
Main Responsibilities
- Support daily reporting of newborn and FASP screening results
- Liaise with clinical teams to develop and maintain these services
- Maintain general biochemistry skills and knowledge through participation in duty biochemist rotas
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of our biochemical genetics and screening services. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of techniques and analysers, including LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, AutoDELFIA, and HPLC.
Person Specification
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and professionally with clinical colleagues
- Desirable: experience in newborn bloodspot or fetal anomaly screening, or biochemical genetics laboratory
