Job Description

Job Title: Education Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Education Specialist to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. The successful candidate will be responsible for raising the educational outcomes of all UHL Children's Ward inpatients attending the School Room using identified online teaching programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective monitoring and auditing of educational achievement of School Room attendees.
  • Provide relevant advice on education of School Room attendees to Virtual school staff and a range of partner agencies.
  • Work with the Outreach Manager of the Virtual School to develop a comprehensive strategy for raising the attainment of the cohort.
  • Work with vulnerable young people who may exhibit a range of emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Take a leading role in identifying and commissioning suitable educational provision for School Room attendees whilst unable to attend mainstream school.
  • Lead on commissioning a range of specialist resources for the identified School Room cohort.
  • Analyse the learning data from the online teaching programmes and disseminate this to appropriate agencies.
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, assess, and mark learning activities for individuals/groups.
  • Responsible for the management and development of The School Room.

Essential Experience Required:

  • Experience working with children of relevant age in a learning environment is essential.
  • Experience creating a stimulating visual environment in the classroom is essential.
  • Experience working with relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation is essential.

Essential Qualification Required:

  • Higher Level Teacher Assistant qualification or equivalent is essential.
  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 is essential.

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: 25 hours per week from Monday to Friday on school hours.
  • Enhanced DBS is required for the role.
  • The role is based in a hospital setting.
