  • Design and express protein variants aimed at improving performance metrics.
  • Purify proteins using chromatographic methods with AKTA systems.
  • Analyse proteins using biochemical and biophysical techniques, such as SDS-PAGE, LC-MS, EMSA, western blot, or fluorescence-based activity assays.
  • Characterise proteins using nanopore based single molecule assays.
  • Robustly analyse data from experiments and report findings to the wider team and division.
  • Design improved protein variants through rational structure-based design and machine learning approaches.

Requirements

  • BSc/Msc in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of independent laboratory experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of organisation, and effective communication skills.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary ranging from £35,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • An attractive bonus scheme.
  • Generous pension contributions.
  • Private healthcare.
