Job Title: Personal Advisor

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Westminster to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support care leavers make a successful transition to adulthood.
  • To contribute to the assessments, formulation, implementation and review of Pathway Plans through direct interventions and full engagement of the young person.
  • To provide assistance and advice to Care Leavers in relation to developing practical independent living skills, holding a tenancy and developing financial capabilities.
  • Provide coaching and motivational support to enable young people to build the confidence and self-esteem to be successful in adulthood.
  • Safeguard and protect Care leavers as they transition to independence through regular contact and ensuring that they are; effectively engaged; in suitable accommodation; and in education training or employment appropriate to their abilities and aspirations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across agencies with the view to co-ordinating the provision of relevant services and taking reasonable steps to ensure the young person makes use of them.

Requirements:

  • Educated to A level (or equivalent) or extensive experience of directly working with children, young people, their parents and carers to effect positive change.
