We are seeking a talented IT Infrastructure Developer to join our team at Brockenhurst College. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems that support our strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in designing and implementing large-scale software systems. You will work closely with our Learning Technology and Development Manager to scope and develop systems development plans, ensuring that they align with our college's strategic goals.
Apart from your technical expertise, you will also need to have excellent communication skills, as you will be working with non-technical colleagues across the organization. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software systems that meet our strategic objectives
- Work closely with the Learning Technology and Development Manager to scope and develop systems development plans
- Maintain and improve existing software systems
- Ensure consistent design, user experience, and accessibility across all developed systems
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of software systems
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in an IT or development related field
- Level 2 English and Maths qualifications
- Experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on large-scale system design and implementation
- Knowledge of MSSQL database modeling, design, building, and maintenance
- Proficiency in C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or derivatives)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
