About The Role

Cardiff County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Caretaking Services Team as a Caretaking Building Service Manager. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our caretaking services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality building management and caretaking services in high-rise blocks, single and family hostels, and community living schemes.

About the Job

As the Caretaking Building Service Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the delivery of caretaking services, including cleaning and maintenance of properties.
  • Managing a team of caretaking staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Collaborating with our Tenancy Services, Void Management Unit, and Homeless Teams to coordinate clearance and cleaning activities for void properties or vulnerable tenants.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Managing budgets and resources effectively to deliver high-quality services.
  • Providing training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Previous experience in a similar managerial role, preferably in housing management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Experience in staff management, training, and development.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality services and ensuring customer satisfaction.
