Electrical Installation Lecturer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Lecturer to join our team at Reed - Further Education. As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing students on a range of courses and learning programmes in Electrical Installation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and assess students on Electrical Installation courses, ensuring excellent teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Undertake administrative tasks, including learner registration, attendance, record keeping, tracking, and reporting.
  • Meet the demands of an Academic Calendar, including producing Schemes of Work, planning lessons, and meeting Quality and awarding body requirements.
  • Prepare students for higher levels of study and the world of work, developing vocational and employability skills through the curriculum.
  • Work with the Pastoral and Progression Coach and course team to facilitate the Next Steps Passport and promote work experience opportunities.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum, using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and record learners' progress for identified modules.
  • Carry out internal verification duties in line with quality assurance processes.
Requirements:
  • Teaching qualification, such as AET, PTLLS, PGCE, or Certificate in Education.
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in the teaching subject area.
  • Essential: AM2, JIB, or ECS Gold Card Registration.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice settings.
  • Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
