Data Engineer

Location

Our client, a forward-thinking Financial Services company, is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join their team in Leeds. The role offers a great balance of remote and office work, with 4 days from home and 1 day in the office.

The company has a fast-paced and energetic environment, similar to a start-up, but with the financial security of a larger bank. They are a technology-first business with a lot of exciting projects happening in tech.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing Data Engineering team and play a vital role in executing the company's technology strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Data Engineering and a high level of knowledge in AWS and SQL.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the upkeep of current data pipelines by anticipating problems and addressing incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with different departments to establish criteria for upcoming projects, including requests for pipelines and ETL processes.

Requirements

  • Skilled in utilizing SQL databases like Postgres and Athena Presto SQL, with a strong proficiency in Python to construct, manage, and coordinate data pipelines.
  • Documentation and deployment - Capable of delivering changes in a structured way to ensure testing, approval, and deployment following established business procedures.
