Senior Broker Development Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Broker Development Specialist to join our Business Development team at Liberty Specialty Markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers across FinPro lines, identifying new business opportunities, and implementing strategies to achieve business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute broker development plans in collaboration with the Head of Broker Management and Underwriters.
- Build and maintain external relationships with multiple brokers across FinPro lines.
- Create and maintain relationship matrices reflecting your interactions with internal stakeholders and broker partners.
- Articulate the LSM strategy to broker partners and internal stakeholders.
- Implement the broker management strategy as agreed upon with the Head of Broker Management, London Executive, and Underwriters.
- Deliver high-quality service in respect of business forecasting and result analysis.
- Monitor the implementation of business plans and the performance of brokers against targets, recommending appropriate development focus or remedial action.
- Contribute to targeting corporate entertainment to ensure 'best spend' where business needs developing/boosting.
- Participate in ensuring company representation at all major events and informal functions.
- Collaborate with underwriters to develop pipeline that fits with company appetite; assist with renewal defence negotiations and new business pitches.
- Stay up-to-date with broker changes, e.g., joiners, appetite, wins/losses, and notify the wider Business Development team and Underwriters.
- Keep abreast of market changes and competition, feeding back to the business.
- Performance manage underachieving brokers in conjunction with the Head of Broker Management and Underwriting Managers.
- Identify and manage cross-sell opportunities with new/existing clients, collaborate with other members of the Business Development team, Underwriters, and Client Managers.
- Product Development: identify and help bring new products/distribution models to market.
- Utilize Salesforce for data capture, insights, and as a cross-sell and client management tool.
- Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements, which form part of your role, and demonstrate behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your position.
Requirements:
- Capable of producing and managing challenging Broker development plans.
- Fully PC and technologically literate. Salesforce an advantage.
- ACII qualification desirable but not essential.
- Sufficient numeracy and ability to compile and analyse revenue and other data drawn from various systems.
- Understanding of Retail insurance with a good level of London market awareness.
- Experience of business development/account management in any sector.
- Clear understanding of the company's strategic objectives and how we seek to deliver these through operational plans.
- Strong interpersonal/influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain external relationships.
- Team player able to establish and maintain relationships with, and the trust of, Underwriting, Claims, and Support Services teams.
- Self-starter with initiative, drive, the ability to devise creative solutions, solve problems, and follow through to achieve results.
- Effective communication and presentation skills – capable of producing and delivering effective presentations.
- Able to establish and develop strong relationships at all levels within the Broker market and with intermediaries, maintaining a good knowledge of their structures, philosophy, and business objectives.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
