English Teacher Position

We are seeking a qualified English teacher to join our team at a secondary school in South Shields. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching English in a classroom environment and a passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons according to the school's curriculum standards
  • Maintaining student progress records
  • Providing support for form students' development and overall progress as a form tutor
  • Contribute to the raising standards of student achievement

Requirements:

  • Possess a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for KS3, KS4 and (preferably) KS5
  • Honours degree
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary (KS3/KS4/KS5) classroom environment
  • Evidence of students achieving excellent exam grades
  • Understanding of standard computer packages and how these can be used to enhance student learning
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about supporting children with various abilities in a positive education environment
  • Can demonstrate problem-solving skills when facing challenging situations
  • Must have, or be willing to, undergo an enhanced DBS check
  • Committed to ensuring the safeguarding of young people
