About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Sandtoft site in Doncaster. As a key member of our hands-on in-house team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out essential maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Assist in developing and implementing the agility maintenance system to improve factory overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Attend breakdowns and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and optimize production
  • Ensure machine safety standards are upheld and critical spares are maintained to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Install and maintain plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Improve factory OEE by identifying and implementing process improvements and optimizing maintenance schedules
  • Promote Lean thinking and continuous improvement throughout the factory
  • Use various types of testing equipment to locate and fix faults, and contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
  • Adhere to Wienerberger's quality system and standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001
About You

We are looking for a mechanically biased engineer with experience working in manufacturing/factory environments, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. You will be committed to safe working practices and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.

You will be a team player who builds good relationships with colleagues, with good communication (written and verbal) and analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also have experience of diagnostics, hydraulics, pneumatic, and drive chain fault finding, as well as bearing fitting and alignment.

Desirable qualifications include a hands-on apprentice training programme, HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent), experience in heavy industry manufacturing, knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations, Arc and Mig welding/basic fabrication, and electrical control systems experience.
