Job Title: Lead M&E Engineer - Energy Efficiency Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead M&E Engineer to join our team at PRS. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing large-scale engineering projects from conception to completion, focusing on energy efficiency upgrades and low-carbon technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support energy and water efficiency upgrades with engineering input, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Collate technical and commercial information from manufacturers and suppliers to inform design decisions.
  • Act as technical lead, driving high-quality design and technical approaches in line with industry best practices.
  • Develop solutions to energy and water efficiency upgrade challenges, working closely with clients and stakeholders.
  • Produce design data and sizing calculations for projects, including GSHP and ASHP systems, district and communal heating systems, solar PV, and other low-carbon technologies.
  • Lead and manage large-scale engineering projects from bid conception through to project completion and handover, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Conduct site surveys and report on findings to clients, providing expert technical advice and guidance.
  • Undertake site and technology assessments to assist in funding applications for clients, identifying opportunities for energy and water efficiency upgrades.
  • Provide peer review support to the engineering team, working closely with the Head of Engineering and Head of Design to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Full technical design and report writing as part of tender responses, project work, and construction as-built documentation.
  • Carry out technical surveys in domestic and/or commercial properties for energy or water efficiency related upgrades.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale engineering projects, with a focus on energy efficiency upgrades and low-carbon technologies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, including design calculations and report writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
