We are seeking a skilled Cook/Chef to join our team at British Garden Centres. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare, cook, and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard.
- Work safely around kitchen equipment and maintain accurate food ordering and stock levels.
- Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic, and tidy at all times.
- Monitor portion size and waste, and prepare carvery and clean the carvery area.
- Complete relevant paperwork and records as required.
- Experience of working in a commercial catering environment.
- Knowledge of carvery, HACCP, allergens, meat weights, and portion control.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Professionalism and reliability, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good time management and level 2 basic food hygiene.
- No evening work, split shifts, or unsociable hours.
- Year-round business with security of working in a well-established expanding family business.
- Negotiable rate of pay dependent upon skills and experience.
- 50% meal discount at any BGC restaurant and 20% discount at any BGC store.
