Job Title: Principal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead our team on multiple projects. As a key member of our Port and Marine team in Glasgow, you will be responsible for technical delivery of a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and successfully complete deliverables;
  • Present calculations to a high standard of quality and utilize current computer software;
  • Check and review technical specifications, reports, and technical notes to a high standard;
  • Mentor staff to achieve technical solutions and provide support to develop their knowledge and experience;
  • Communicate and liaise with other disciplines and clients to ensure clear understanding of scope and deliverables;
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders;
  • Design structures in the Marine Environment;
  • Have good understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, and best practice in the maritime environment;
  • Experience in delivering projects over a range of cost and complexity;
  • Working in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Experience in the UK Maritime industry.
Requirements:
  • CEng / IEng qualified in civil or structural engineering – or anticipating achieving this status imminently;
  • Be able to obtain SC Clearance.
