We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operative Signalling Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work outdoors in a small team to support essential maintenance of the rail network
  • Develop technical skills across a range of manual, electrical, and digital equipment
  • Specialize in Signalling & Telecoms, working with equipment including signals, level crossings, and points systems
  • Transport kit across challenging terrain and work in demanding manual conditions
  • Provide lookout duties to ensure the safety of the team and the public
Requirements
  • Teamworking: ability to work closely with the team to deliver safe and efficient work delivery
  • Communication: good communication skills to work safely and effectively
  • Proactive planning: punctuality, having the van and equipment ready, and anticipating the needs of the team
  • Working under pressure: ability to remain calm under pressure while working outdoors in all conditions
  • Following rules and instructions: understanding and respect for rules, with confidence to challenge if a situation is unsafe
  • Willingness to learn: consistent development of skills and competencies relevant to the discipline
