Emergency Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Planning Officer to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our Emergency Planning and Business Continuity team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our district is prepared to respond to emergencies and disasters.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Manager in coordinating, monitoring, developing, and reviewing emergency plans and policies.
- Respond to emergencies, both during and outside normal office hours, in accordance with our emergency procedures.
- Work closely with partners across the district and West Yorkshire to ensure effective emergency planning and response.
- Develop and implement business continuity plans to minimize disruption to our services.
- Proven experience in emergency planning, disaster response, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and emergency planning procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies effectively.
