Power Market Fundamentals Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Market Fundamentals Specialist to join our team at Shell Energy. As a key member of the Power Fundamentals team, you will be responsible for delivering market views to support trading decisions.

In this role, you will research and understand the fundamental drivers related to supply/demand/transmission in the context of modelling focused on developing forward pricing views. You will also monitor market developments in market design/regulatory issues that could impact prices.

You will work closely with short-term and medium-term natural gas and emission analysts in market view development, improve or contribute to projects improving models used by the team, propose trading strategies evaluating expected profit, risks, timing, and share best practices and knowledge within the team and outside.

Requirements
  • Good knowledge in energy economics
  • Strong knowledge of the European Energy Markets
  • Very strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent IT skills, including the ability to model in main languages such as Python and in the MS Windows environment (particularly Excel), experience interfacing with databases (SQL)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or any related degrees required
  • Demonstrated understanding of power fundamentals

The estimated salary for this position is €80,000 - €120,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
