Job Title: Senior DMPK Scientist

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DMPK Scientist to join our Medicinal Chemistry and DMPK group. The successful candidate will have a strong background in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, with expertise in PKPD modelling and simulation.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead innovative experimental science projects: Suggest, craft and carry out experiments within a team of DMPK and PKPD Scientists.
  • Stay up-to-date with sector progression: Monitor and maintain awareness of DMPK and PKPD sector developments, suggesting next steps in the experimental process and evaluating novel techniques.
  • Contribute to leadership: Contribute to the leadership of the Medicinal Chemistry and DMPK group and the Therapeutic innovation strategy.
  • Manage outsourcing and resources: Manage outsourcing activity and operational resources to ensure effective delivery of projects.
  • Oversee internal expertise: Oversee internal expertise, apportioning capacity and resources to inform governance and decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity: Ensure consistent high-quality data integrity within the DMPK group, presenting compelling data interpretation to guide research strategy and direction.


Requirements:

  • PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Drug Metabolism or Pharmacokinetics: Must have a deep and broad element of modelling and simulation, including quantitative pharmacology, systems biology and pharmacometrics.
  • Proven DMPK expertise: Proven expertise in the DMPK space for drug discovery.
  • Delivering PK, PKPD and TKPD expertise: Demonstrable track record of delivering PK, PKPD and TKPD expertise to projects, including mechanistic PKPD modelling for therapeutic dose prediction.
  • Technical skills: Highly skilled in use of MATLAB, SimCYP, WinNonLin/Phoenix NLME.
  • Communication skills: Strong influencing skills, able to lead with credibility and compelling communication skills, both in person and written form.
  • Teamwork: Accustomed to working in a diverse team setting across multiple sites with both internal and external stakeholders to consider.
