Executive Chef

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team as a Regional Chef at Bright Horizons. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals for our children, while ensuring a safe and healthy environment in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for children, adhering to our nutritional standards and minimizing food waste.
• Manage and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety regulations.
• Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating habits and culinary skills.
• Support with other nursery activities, such as BBQs and staff meetings.
• Manage stock levels and maintain accurate records, in line with company procedures.
• Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating habits and child welfare.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably in a domestic or commercial setting.
• Passion for nutrition and inspiring others in healthy eating.
• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post.
• Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements, particularly food allergies.
• Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
