About the Role

Mace is seeking a highly skilled Cost Engineer Lead to join our team in the Integrated Project Controls (IPC) function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the establishment, development, and maintenance of timely and accurate cost data and reports, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, cash flows, and monthly reports on actual cost of work performed (ACWP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the IPC cost and forecasting team to ensure accurate and timely cost data and reports.
  • Develop and implement cost management processes and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines of integrated project controls and project support functions to deliver project goals in accordance with the HPC principles of trust, transparency, and teamwork.
  • Oversee the review, acceptance, and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by Tier 1 contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure alignment of data between cost and other disciplines of integrated project controls.
  • Ensure alignment of ACWP and financial actuals.
  • Work with key interfaces to identify and understand issues and concerns, and collaboratively resolve them.
Requirements
  • Leadership capability and experience in a project management or project controls environment.
  • Detailed understanding of cost management methodologies and techniques, including earned value analysis.
  • Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction methods and techniques in a UK context.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex cost data and use cost management software.
  • Working knowledge of cost risk analysis techniques and various contract types, including the NEC suite and FIDIC.
  • Good commercial awareness, analytical and numerical skills, and attention to detail.
  • High standard of interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of a degree in engineering, construction, quantity surveying, or another related field, and professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.
