We are seeking a skilled and experienced clinician to join our team as a Functional Assessor at DS Associates in Gloucester. As a Functional Assessor, you will play a vital role in helping us to make informed decisions about benefit claims by assessing the impact of disabilities on daily life and work-related activities.

With a minimum of one year's post-qualification experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist, you will have a strong foundation in clinical skills and knowledge. You will be fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body, such as the NMC, HCPC, or other, without restriction or conditions, and with a valid PIN.

The role involves a combination of file-work, face-to-face, and telephone/video assessments with customers, providing comprehensive reports to enable decision makers at DWP to make informed decisions. You will have the opportunity to grow your medical knowledge of a wide variety of medical, cognitive, and mental health conditions.

Comprehensive training will be provided to support you in developing the skills required for the role, including ongoing CPD, support with revalidation, and the opportunity to develop your career within the organisation.

Requirements:

  • one year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist
  • fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body, without restriction or conditions, and with a valid PIN
  • excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise, and dig deeper
  • the ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
