Job Description

Zazu-Digital is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead our data architecture team. As a key member of our digital product and services department, you will play a critical role in upholding and implementing data architecture standards and practices.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with a community of professionals to provide expert advice on best practices in data modelling, supporting and guiding other data architects and data professionals, and producing data artefacts that meet the organisation's standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise the corporate data architecture (CDM) as the blueprint for the organisation's Data Research Platform.
  • Lead and participate in workshops to develop and support other teams in data architectural roles.
  • Provide data architecture support to various projects and initiatives across the organisation.
  • Offer data architecture consultancy and training to services within the organisation.
  • Educate and mentor team members in advanced ontological and data architectural knowledge.

About You

We are looking for an excellent communicator who can translate business requirements into data designs. You should be comfortable managing stakeholders and their expectations, and be able to engage in challenging discussions within the team or with diverse stakeholders.

Key Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Data modelling (conceptual & logical)
  • Competent report writing
  • Workshop facilitation
  • Understanding of Taxonomy
  • Understanding of Ontology
  • Familiarisation with the Zachman Framework
  • Proficiency with at least one EA tool

Desired Skills

  • Experience and understanding of data virtualisation, with technical exposure to this field, preferably Denodo
  • Experience with Knowledge, Information, and Data management tools
  • Process/business modelling
  • System data architecture
  • TOGAF, Enterprise Data Modelling, Visual Paradigm
