As a skilled HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Heavy Goods Vehicles and Light Commercial Vehicles to ensure they are safe and operational. Our client, based in the Manchester area, UK, is seeking an experienced professional to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. The role involves conducting regular inspections and diagnostics on HGVs, performing repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, and assembling and fabricating parts as necessary.

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience, and a variety of shifts available including days, split shifts, and nights. This exciting opportunity also has great scope to progress through our leadership programme, moving up to supervisory/off-the-tools roles in time.

About the Role
  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify issues.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
  • Assemble and fabricate parts as necessary to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Requirements
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads as required during repairs.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
