Rehabilitation Engineering Technician Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Engineer / Wheelchair Technician to join our team at West London NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work in our purpose-designed premises, combining all functions of the wheelchair hub under one roof.
The ideal candidate will have a City & Guilds Full Technical Certificate, HNC or HND or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline, or equivalent work-based experience. They will also possess demonstrable experience working with people, using effective communication, and practical skills with an ability to problem solve and use initiative.
As a key member of our team, you will manage the repairs and maintenance, stores, and workshop, ensuring the smooth operation of our technical services. You will also be responsible for providing high-quality services to service users, working in the community of Hounslow.
The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with colleagues and coordinate services to deliver client-centered care. On-call responsibilities will be part of the job, with a rota basis. You will be well-supported by the Rehabilitation Engineer, Clinical Specialist, and clinical services manager.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and handovers of NHS wheelchairs, as well as assist in the management of our in-house Workshop, Warehouse, and Stores.
- Work alongside a team, conducting repairs and maintaining equipment, and ensuring the efficient operation of our technical services.
- Provide high-quality services to service users, working in the community of Hounslow.
- Manage the repairs and maintenance, stores, and workshop, ensuring the smooth operation of our technical services.
- Coordinate services to deliver client-centered care, working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Person Specification
The following qualifications, skills, and experience are essential for this role:
- City & Guilds Full Technical Certificate, HNC or HND or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent work-based experience.
- Demonstrable experience working with people, using effective communication.
- Practical skills with an ability to problem solve and use initiative.
Salary and Benefits
This role is paid £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, with access to a range of benefits, including pension scheme, generous annual leave, and opportunities for career development.
