Job Title: Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Specialist

Job Summary:

Mbi Staffing is pleased to be working with an independent fostering agency in South East London who are looking for a Supervising Social Worker on a permanent basis.

Job Purpose:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to foster families, ensuring the well-being and safety of children in care. The successful candidate will have a strong background in family-related social work, with experience in fostering and case recording.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 12 families, providing regular visits and support to foster carers and children
  • Conduct thorough assessments and reviews of foster placements, ensuring the best interests of the child are met
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for each child, in collaboration with foster carers and other professionals
  • Provide training and support to foster carers, promoting best practice and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to child care and protection

Requirements:

  • Two years post-qualifying social work experience, with a strong background in family-related social work
  • Valid DBS and HCPC registration (child-centered)
  • Experience of fostering, with a minimum of two years post-qualifying experience
  • Employment history demonstrating a role held for more than 18 months, preferably over two years
  • Ability to use public transport to visit clients in Greater London (driving license not essential but car use is limited to longer journeys)
  • Experience with using electronic systems for case recording
