About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our research team at Newcastle University. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting high-quality research in an academic environment, with a focus on applied health research on sensitive topics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct evidence synthesis, qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Lead an evidence synthesis project and plan and execute surveys
  • Recruit and interview study participants, working with our experts by experience
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to document research progress
  • Compile reports for funders and peer-reviewed publications, present data at group meetings and conferences, and prepare feedback for participants
Requirements
  • Experience of conducting high-quality research in an academic environment
  • Experience of conducting applied health research on sensitive topics
  • Experience of evidence synthesis, qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to carry out research project work within agreed timelines, meeting project milestones and producing research to an appropriate standard
  • Ability to prioritize key tasks and maintain confidentiality and protect research/personal data according to protocols and principles of good research practice
Desirable
  • Experience of survey design and conducting applied health research in sensitive areas
  • Experience of preparing research proposals and securing grant income

  • Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with others
Qualifications
  • PhD in a subject relevant to multi-method research on palliative and end-of-life care for people with multiple long-term conditions
  • First and masters degrees in a subject relevant to multi-method research on palliative and end-of-life care for people with multiple long-term conditions
