Job Title: Advanced Clinical Research Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Clinical Research Practitioner to join our haematology and transplant team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering advanced clinical care to patients with haematological cancers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide clinical assessment and support to patients requiring haematology input and transplant.
  2. Work alongside medical, AHP, and nursing teams to maintain good communication and collaboration between multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Develop and enhance the haematology and transplant service, providing clinical expertise and contributing to clinical and research governance processes.
  4. Prescribe within the capacity of non-medical prescribing, adhering to Trust policy and existing frameworks.
  5. Contribute to the delivery of the Trust strategic vision for academic nursing and AHP roles.
About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and busy team, delivering advanced clinical care to patients with haematological cancers. You will be supported to complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, enabling you to work autonomously in the planning, assessment, and delivery of care for this complex group of patients.

The successful candidate will have a high level of experience in acute care or oncology at band 6 or above and demonstrate managerial and leadership abilities. You will be expected to work over 5 days per week, with 7.5 hours dedicated to academic study. Upon qualifying, the role will work across the day unit, ambulatory care units, and inpatient ward, incorporating weekends and bank holidays.

Requirements:
  • Significant nursing or Allied Health Professional experience within the medical and oncology setting.
  • High level of experience in acute care or oncology at band 6 or above.
  • Sound clinical knowledge and managerial and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously in the planning, assessment, and delivery of care for complex patients.
