Speech and Language Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our team at a wonderful Primary school in Hull. As a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with severe SEN and SEMH needs, who often require help with communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain experience in a school setting as a Speech and Language Assistant
  • Work with children who are non-verbal and have difficulty with communication
  • Collaborate with qualified SEN professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists
  • Support children in developing their communication skills using signing, such as Makaton
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree from a Top 30 UK University
  • Previous experience and passion for working with children
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and understanding of language
