Job Description
We're seeking a Cost Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Cost Assurance Specialist, you will work with our clients to review and scrutinize actual incurred costs, driving supply chain improvement and efficiency for major programs and projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing construction contractor systems, controls, and processes to provide a view on their ways of working.
- Analysis and understanding of complex construction contracts.
- Planning financial audits by understanding our clients' objectives and risk areas, as well as the supply chains' structure, policies, and processes.
- Performing testing of data and information using smart techniques and tools such as data visualization and trend/pattern analysis.
- Producing findings reports that deliver key findings, recommendations, and messages in a succinct and professional manner.
- Fostering good quality working relationships with clients and those being reviewed built around trust and professionalism.
- Assisting the maintenance of internal systems to ensure commission and financial management is compliant with business processes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Data analysis skills – ability to review and draw insights from large quantities of data in various formats.
- Time management skills – working in a team environment and handling a variable workload through peaks and troughs.
- Assessment of accuracy and entitlement to costs – certification of application for payment or review of invoices.
- Report writing skills – communicating complex messages succinctly to maximize impact.
- Construction industry technical matters – such as disallowed cost areas, calculation of pain/gain amounts, etc.
- Contract Management – NEC3 (Option C, E) preferred.
