We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at the Celtic Manor Resort.

Job Summary

As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards and that the kitchen is run efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Head Chef in the planning and preparation of menus
* Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards and presented in a visually appealing way
* Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and safety
* Assist with the training and development of junior chefs
* Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all dishes are prepared and served on time
* Maintain accurate records of food costs and inventory
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
* Assist with the ordering and receiving of food and supplies
* Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times

Requirements

* 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
* Proven track record of success in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
* Basic math skills and ability to maintain accurate records
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
