Job Description

Fresh Direct is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team at the Wigan depot. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's products meet the highest quality and safety standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Technical Manager and Operations Manager in maintaining product specifications, overseeing site quality checks, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a chilled food manufacturing environment, preferably in meat processing. They will also have knowledge of food safety legislation, HACCP, and the current BRC standard.

The role involves working Monday to Friday, 3pm-11pm, with occasional flexibility to work Sundays. The successful candidate will be well-organized, IT literate, and have excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical and quality support.
  • Prepare and participate in audits, customer visits, and other site activities.
  • Complete daily checks, including temperature monitoring, calibration, and environmental checks.
  • Coordinate cleaning schedules with the operations hygiene team.
  • Investigate consumer complaints and determine corrective actions.
  • Complete laboratory sampling and review results.
  • Support the Technical Manager with specification and artwork progression.
  • Build production team capability and improve communication.
