Senior Clinical Pharmacist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in a Band 7 rotational position. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients across a range of specialties.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a specialist practitioner in the clinical area, promoting and delivering pharmaceutical care to patients.
- Provide highly specialized evidence-based clinical advice and information to nursing and medical staff on the care and treatment of patients.
- Participate regularly in multidisciplinary ward rounds, antibiotic ward rounds, and other multidisciplinary meetings to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
- Contribute to and participate in the clinical/ward pharmacy service, ensuring appropriate and timely supply of medication to patients.
- Practice as an independent prescriber, providing direct high-quality care to inpatients and outpatients within the scope of practice.
- Support the Principal Pharmacist in monitoring drug expenditure and implementing systems to realize savings and contain prescribing costs.
- Lead, coach, and manage the performance of junior staff, ensuring excellence is recognized and underperformance is addressed.
- Participate in research and audit projects, publishing and presenting results locally, nationally, or internationally as appropriate.

Person Specification
- Registered Pharmacist with 1 year of competency-assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the area of practice.
