Job Title: Senior Frontend Engineering Manager


About the Role:


We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Frontend Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at Selby Jennings. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of frontend engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a team of frontend engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable and maintainable frontend applications using Node.js and React.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to deliver high-quality features and products.
  • Design and implement user interfaces that are intuitive, visually appealing, and meet user requirements.
  • Optimize application performance through code refactoring, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development and propose innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members to foster growth and collaboration.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Frontend Engineer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related web technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js and React, with a deep understanding of their core principles and best practices.
  • Experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack, Babel, and npm.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Additional Requirements:


  • Knowledge of TypeScript or other statically typed languages.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.


Education & Experience:


  • 5+ years of finance experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
