We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team at Athena Care Homes. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and delivering engaging and stimulating activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a person-centered activities programme that caters to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure that activities are aligned with the individual needs and preferences of each resident.
- Provide support and guidance to residents to enable them to participate in activities that promote their independence and autonomy.
- Accurately record and report all activities completed, including any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Engage with residents in meaningful conversation and provide emotional support as needed.
- Experience of working in a care environment, preferably in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of dementia and its effects on individuals, with the ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with dementia.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
- Full training will be provided, including NVQs and other relevant qualifications.
