Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within primary schools across North London. This role is perfect for individuals who want to support young learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and behaviours that challenge, helping them thrive in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 or group support for primary school students with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in managing behaviour through positive reinforcement and tailored strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure the appropriate support is in place for each child.
  • Help create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment within the classroom.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Assist with any personal care needs if required.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection protocols are followed at all times.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, or behaviour that challenges.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN qualifications) are an advantage but not essential.
  • Willingness to undertake free CPD training, including Team Teach Level 1 and other SEN-related development.
