About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our national Incentives, Reliefs & Innovations team at KPMG-UnitedKingdom. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in delivering expert advice to clients across various industries, helping them navigate complex tax legislation and optimize their R&D tax credits.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and work with engagement teams to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
• Lead meetings with senior technical and financial client stakeholders, providing expert advice on innovation advisory services, including R&D, Patent Box, and Grant Applications.
• Prepare and/or manage the process for preparing technical and financial elements of client deliverables, including reports documenting work undertaken by clients in complex science/engineering projects.
• Manage client projects across tax and technical work streams, ensuring effective resourcing and conflict resolution.
• Lead by example in client relationships, technical quality, and service delivery, coaching and developing junior staff as needed.
Requirements
• Honours/Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related discipline, with experience in the information technology industry an advantage.
• Detailed working knowledge of R&D tax legislation and its application to science/engineering activities, or significant industry experience in a field of science/technology with the ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legislative concepts to non-experts.
• Project management skills, with the ability to manage own workload and delegate to staff members.
