About Gap Technical Ltd: We are a market-leading manufacturing business based in Wrexham, looking for a skilled Contract Project Engineer/Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing engineering projects that meet client specifications and quality standards. This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual with a strong background in engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessments, and contingency plans. Oversee and drive project activities to ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise to guide engineering processes and decision-making. Work with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial objectives are met without compromising on quality or compliance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project updates. Report regularly on project status, risks, and any deviations from the plan.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and team members to align on project requirements, status updates, and final deliverables.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Apprentice Trained Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical). HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering - Highly Desirable.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience in project engineering, ideally within an Automotive/Assembly background.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software, CAD software, and engineering tools relevant to the project scope.
  4. Project Management: PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.

We are offering a competitive salary package: £37.00 per hour (Outside IR35).
