Job Summary

This is a unique chance to join our team as a Help Desk Technician, providing day-to-day support to students and staff. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.

About the Role
  • Salary: £17.60 per hour (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: Temporary, 6 months
  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday, fully campus-based

As a Help Desk Technician, your main responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Providing timely and accurate support to customers via phone, email, or in-person, resolving technical issues and escalating complex problems to senior colleagues.
  2. Managing IT tickets using our FM IT support system (Planon), prioritizing urgent jobs and communicating with customers and colleagues to ensure effective resolution.
  3. Liaising with contractors to arrange repairs and maintenance, ensuring that all necessary information is communicated clearly and efficiently.
  4. Maintaining records of customer interactions, job progress, and completed tasks, utilizing our help desk logbooks to provide accurate reference and statistical data.
  5. Supporting contingency procedures by operating remotely and maintaining continuity of service during times of crisis or disruption.
  6. Contributing to team efforts through collaboration, ideas sharing, and participating in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
