Job SummaryThis is a unique chance to join our team as a Help Desk Technician, providing day-to-day support to students and staff. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.
About the Role- Salary: £17.60 per hour (35 hours per week)
- Duration: Temporary, 6 months
- Working pattern: Monday to Friday, fully campus-based
As a Help Desk Technician, your main responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities- Providing timely and accurate support to customers via phone, email, or in-person, resolving technical issues and escalating complex problems to senior colleagues.
- Managing IT tickets using our FM IT support system (Planon), prioritizing urgent jobs and communicating with customers and colleagues to ensure effective resolution.
- Liaising with contractors to arrange repairs and maintenance, ensuring that all necessary information is communicated clearly and efficiently.
- Maintaining records of customer interactions, job progress, and completed tasks, utilizing our help desk logbooks to provide accurate reference and statistical data.
- Supporting contingency procedures by operating remotely and maintaining continuity of service during times of crisis or disruption.
- Contributing to team efforts through collaboration, ideas sharing, and participating in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
