Job Title: Software Engineer

Carbon60, a leading company in the Impellam Group STEM Portfolio, is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their team in Abingdon. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems that meet the company's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software systems using C# and WPF
  • Manage and process feedback from the system
  • Design intuitive and user-friendly user interfaces
  • Develop software for new projects and take ownership of the software elements
  • Fault finding during commissioning and deployment
  • Support and improve software on existing deployed machinery
  • Provide after-sales support to customers
  • Communicate with customers to determine software requirements
  • Research future developments and opportunities for software development
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the source control repositories
Requirements:
  • Experience of.NET software development and environments, ideally C#/ WPF
  • Experience with a software repository such as GIT/Mercurial
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of object-oriented programming
  • Experience of software communication to hardware
  • Knowledge of other machine control elements, such as PLC, is desirable

Education and/or Experience:
  • 2:1 or higher classification degree in electronic engineering, software engineering, or similar technical subject
