Job Overview

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Specialty Doctor to join their team in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. As a key member of the middle grade on-call cover, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the department's success.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Deliver exceptional patient care, working closely with consultant staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  2. Conduct regular ward rounds to review in-patient progress and make informed decisions about patient management.
  3. Participate in minor oral surgery and fast-track clinics, utilizing your expertise to optimize patient outcomes.
  4. Engage in meaningful audit activities to drive quality improvement within the department.
  5. Support the training and development of junior medical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  6. Deputize for colleagues as needed, demonstrating your ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  7. Perform administrative duties to support clinical commitments, ensuring seamless operation of the department.
  8. Be adaptable and flexible, willing to adjust your job plan as necessary to meet the needs of patients and the department.
  9. Develop and enhance your clinical skills, particularly in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
  10. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve clinical and quality targets, driving excellence in patient care and outcomes.
