Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and authentic nursing leader to join the Medical Division at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent opportunity to transform the way we think, act, and deliver services for the Medical Division.

The Divisional Director of Quality and Care Excellence will be an integral member of the Divisional leadership Team, working alongside the Divisional Director of Operations and Chief of Service to implement service improvement, delivery, and development plans.

This role will involve developing a culture of performance management and delivery as a foundation for excellent organisational performance. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the divisional team and associated clinical staff to develop effective multi-disciplinary services, managing and co-ordinating the delivery of agreed performance indicators in relation to clinical outcomes, clinical efficiency, and service line reporting.

The Divisional Director of Quality and Care Excellence will be responsible to the Chief of Service and professionally accountable to the Director of Quality and Chief Nurse.

Main Duties

  • Lead, inspire, and develop the nursing workforce within the Division to deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care that meets the needs of the patient using highly specialist knowledge.
  • Responsible for the line management and professional standards of nursing within the division.
  • Deliver visible leadership to nursing and care staff within the division in order to constantly improve the quality of nursing practice delivered to patients.
  • Ensure the Division has a comprehensive and progressive quality strategy and sufficiently robust systems of internal control in place, ensuring that the Trust consistently delivers on its vision.
