Experienced Social Worker for Children's Services

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Social Worker to join our Children's Services team in Dorchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering statutory services under the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and develop effective care plans.
* Manage complex cases involving Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care.
* Prepare detailed reports for court and various multi-agency meetings, and present evidence in legal proceedings when required.
* Safeguard the welfare of children by implementing intervention methods and supporting families to become more self-reliant.
* Collaborate with a wide range of professionals, including health, education, and social care providers, to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare.
* Maintain accurate case records, input data into the core system, and provide documentation for statistical purposes.
* Mentor and support less experienced social workers as they progress through their career, acting as a knowledge resource within the team.
Requirements:
* A Social Work Degree (or equivalent) and Social Work England registration.
* Significant post-qualification experience as a Level 2 Social Worker, with the ability to manage complex cases and court proceedings.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory legislation, including Child Protection Procedures and permanency planning.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver clear and concise advice on complex cases.
* Experience of collaborative work with multi-agency teams, ensuring joint contribution and effective service delivery.
* A valid driving licence with access to a car for work-related travel.
