Job Title: Senior Environmental Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Officer to join our Water Quality and Environment team at Severn Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing environmental risks across designated regions, ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulations, and facilitating Environment Agency audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with operations across designated regions.
  • Regularly review and amend environmental permits to ensure they remain up-to-date and reflective of operational practices.
  • Facilitate and lead Environment Agency site inspections, coordinating with internal teams to ensure sites meet audit requirements.
  • Conduct regular, risk-based site inspections to ensure compliance and readiness for external audits.
  • Manage the Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of any non-compliance issues.
  • Utilize PowerBI dashboards, TeRI BI reports, and eSCADA trends to monitor environmental performance across sites.
  • Lead collaboration between multiple teams to address and resolve compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement improvements to current data reporting practices, ensuring that reporting is timely, accurate, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in waste water recycling treatment processes.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement, with a track record of identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • A full UK driving license is essential.
