We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to join our team as a Behaviour Support Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and/or adults who display challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students' mental health, assisting in creating a nurturing learning environment, and working closely with staff and students to effectively assist and guide them through any challenges they may have.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support sessions for students, focusing on emotional regulation, self-care techniques, and strategies for managing challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of education plans for students with mental health concerns.
  • Monitor students' progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding their needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy and safeguarding laws and regulations.
  • Support teachers in managing student behaviour and specialist needs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Team Teach trained or willing to undergo training.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mental health setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting students, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of child safeguarding and respond to such concerns efficiently.

This role involves working term-time hours, from 08:30 – 15:30. The ideal candidate will be able to work with students of Primary and/or Secondary age groups.
