HGV Mechanic Technician

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic for a 2-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate the organisation's vehicle workshop and MOT centre efficiently.
Assist with work allocation and administration.
Provide fleet vehicle and plant maintenance, MOT testing, and taxi testing.
Essential Skills:
- Practical mechanical understanding of HGV commercial vehicles, cars, and plant.
- Prioritise work based on service needs.
- Work methodically and efficiently.
- Work under pressure, maintaining a high standard of work and attitude.
- Operate computer-based software and IT auditing systems.
- Perform practical garage work.
- LGV inspection and testing standards and principles.
- Fault diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Commercial garage operations.
- MOT legislation.
- Minimum 5 years of practical mechanical maintenance of HGV commercial vehicles.
- City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- LGV Class C driving licence.
Desirable Skills:
- Up-to-date MOT testers qualification.
- Vehicle inspection accreditation.
- Operators CPC qualification.
- Assessment and writing risk assessments.
- Light vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Commercial fleet operation and legislation.
- Ability to operate a front loader.
- Ability to operate a forklift truck.
