Software Asset Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Asset Manager to join our client's team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for managing software assets for a major vendor, working closely with a team to build the SAM process from the ground up.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with multiple major vendors, including IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Microsoft, and to collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams. You will be expected to bring a strategic mindset to the role and help shape the software asset management function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement SAM processes for a key vendor.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
- Collaborate with external partners, including a project manager and data analysts, as well as offshore teams.
- Manage software licensing positions in data centre environments.
- Support the overall strategy and maturity of the SAM function within the organization.
Requirements:
- Experience in SAM, with a strong focus on licensing.
- Proven experience with major vendors such as IBM, Oracle, VMware, and Microsoft.
- Understanding of data centre complexities related to software asset management.
- Self-motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Experience with SAM tools such as Xensam is highly desirable.
The Team and Environment:
You will be joining a collaborative team that includes outsourced resources such as a project manager and data analysts, working closely with them to achieve the organization's SAM goals. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a process and contribute to its long-term success.
