Job Summary:
Vantage Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Defence Project Manager to join our team. As a Defence Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction activity to contract negotiation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all pre-construction activity, including procurement and organisation of on-site surveys, feasibility studies, and early design work.
- Validate scopes and produce project specification documents/SOW.
- Support the production of Rough Order of Costs and deliverability assessments.
- Obtain design approval and prepare document packs for tender.
- Procure and manage contractors for project delivery.
Requirements:
- MOD (Ministry of Defence) / DIO (Defence Infrastructure Organisation) project experience.
- Knowledge of RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) stages.
- Construction Project Management experience.
- Understanding of the various stages of pre-construction activity and experience of design and tendering.
- Experience of evaluating technical tender and commercial documents and familiarity with NRM pricing.
- High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Chartered membership of Construction/Engineering/Facilities or Project Management and/or equivalent qualifications e.g. MCIOB, M/AssocRICS, MAPM, MCIAT, Prince 2, NEBOSH, IOSH, APM, PMP etc.
Working Environment:
This is a fast-paced environment with high project turnover, typical project values between £100k and £1m. You will operate mostly in the RIBA Stages 0-4 space, handling all pre-construction activity, providing services directly on the MOD estate.
Frequent travel across the MOD estate will be required, therefore it is essential you have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
