Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Testing and Inspection Engineer to join our team at Scotts Electrical Services Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the electrical installations and systems in our commercial and industrial clients are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Initial and periodic testing and inspection of commercial and industrial installations
  • Electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work within commercial and industrial environments as required by contracts manager
  • Documentation of all necessary paperwork to contract or day works
  • Carrying out work on site independently with no supervision
  • Planning and organizing jobs as required by the contracts manager
  • Participating in all training initiatives specific to the job
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably requested by management
  • Taking reasonable care of own and others' safety; cooperating with managers/supervisors in complying with statutory Health & Safety duties; reporting incidents, accidents, faults, etc.

Essential Criteria:

  • Time served, fully qualified electrician to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Holding a full driving license
  • City & Guilds 2382, 18th Edition; qualified to City & Guilds 2391, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • Proven experience of periodic installation testing and knowledge and experience of completing NIECEIC reports
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Desirable Criteria:

  • Proven knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Experience in electrical fault finding
  • Holding a current CSR card; and IPAF trained
  • Competent in the use of various IT software packages

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability for drive and enthusiasm in completing their workload and have the ability to identify and resolve technical problems onsite. Be a good team member and demonstrate ability to work unsupervised. Good organisational skills including time management.
